Symbols are used to note a standing in a course when a grade is not issued or available.

Remedial Work Required. Used in practice-based courses that do not carry weight in calculating the grade point average. This will be noted in the calendar course description as 鈥淣ot Included in GPA鈥� where applicable.
An 鈥淩M鈥� may only be used once per course. An 鈥淩M鈥� is a permanent notation on the student record. Students will be required to register in the course for a second attempt. Following completion of the second attempt, a 鈥淐R鈥� or 鈥淔鈥� grade can only be applied. A maximum of two 鈥淩M鈥� per degree program may be permitted. Faculties may set more restrictive criteria. Faculties are not required to use the RM symbol.
